Potato Layer Bake

Ingredients:
1 kg/2lb potatoes, thinly sliced
1 large onion, thinly sliced
50g/2oz butter
175g/6oz mature cheddar cheese, grated
300ml/ ½ pint milk
Salt and black pepper
Parsley to garnish

Method:
Using an ovenproof dish, layer up the potatoes, onion, knobs of butter and cheese, ending with a layer of cheese and butter.
Season the milk with salt and freshly ground black pepper, pour over
Bake 190 degrees C/375 degrees F for 1 ½ hours or until the potatoes are tender and the top browned.
Garnish with parsley before serving.
