Mrs Apostolou’s Savouries

Ingredients:
2 cups self raising flour, sifted
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon cumin powder
½ teaspoon pepper
250 g salted butter
1 coffee cup oil
3 eggs
1 teacup grated parmesan cheese
1 coffee cup warm milk (when kneading)
Beaten egg to glaze
Cumin seeds

Method:
Add cumin powder, salt and pepper to sifted flour.
Beat butter and oil together.
Add eggs, mixing in well. Mix in cheese.
Gradually add flour to form soft dough.
Adjust flour, if necessary.
Transfer dough onto a floured surface and start kneading, adding warm milk to help with kneading.
Shape into crescents.
Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with cumin seeds.
Bake in a moderate oven, for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
