Choc Chip Cookies – Original Toll House Cookies
Ingredients:1 cup butter
¾ cup castor sugar
¾ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 ¼ cups plain flour, sifted
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoon water
200g nestle choc chip bits (dark)
1 cup chopped walnuts
Method:
Cream butter with the two sugars until light and fluffy.
Beat in egg and vanilla, beat well.
Mix in flour, baking powder and salt, add water, blending thoroughly.
Stir in choc chip bits and chopped walnuts, mix well.
Drop teaspoons of batter onto a greased baking sheet.
Bake 10 to 15 minutes in a moderate oven.
Note: you could substitute the walnuts with hazelnuts or macadamia nuts.
